Welcome to the first instalment of Living in Their Heads (Rent Free!) – our brand-new regular feature shining a light on just how much Reform UK rattles the Labour-run Medway Council. Their obsession with us is so deep, we should probably start paying them rent!

This time, Labour’s Cllr Murray decided to launch into a wild tirade against Reform UK – all because she thinks our Reform UK councillors said they fully support the “Marmot Principles” (spoiler: they haven’t).
It’s worth a listen just to hear how completely unhinged they get at the mere thought of Reform UK.

📜 Here’s Cllr Murray’s rant, in full:

“And I’m afraid I would remind my ward colleagues from Reform that if they support the Marmot principles, putting out the kind of hate-filled rubbish that Reform put out on their party political broadcast last night, taking no account of the contribution that immigrants have made to this country for thousands of years, instead spreading hatred and division, well there’s a big contrast with what Michael Marmot thinks and hopes to achieve.

No policies in that broadcast, no, not hardly a mention actually of local government. It was all about immigrants and Nigel Farage, standing on a platform laughing like a hyena, to idiots in the audience, so, you know, I do caution when you say you want to support the Marmot principles, because if Reform is speaking for you, I’m afraid there’s a big contrast.”

🧠 Our comeback?

Well, we’re not sure where Cllr Murray got the idea that our Reform UK Councillors have ever claimed full support of the Marmot Principles – but let’s be honest, at this point she probably sees Nigel Farage riding a hyena every time she turns on the telly! Maybe what’s really needed here isn’t political lectures… but a bit of counselling? 🛋️”

Cllr Murray seems to think Britain’s history is one long open-borders street party. In reality, Britain has had a stable identity for over a thousand years. Yes, immigrants have made contributions – and those who come legally, integrate, and work hard are valued. But shouting ‘thousands of years’ wildly misses the point:
Britain’s success comes from strong borders, national pride, and a shared culture – not endless mass migration. Reform UK stands for sensible, controlled immigration – because we care about protecting what’s made this country great for generations.

And as for laughing at idiots? Labour’s obsession with calling voters names shows exactly why Reform UK is growing while they are shrinking.

🧠 Quick explainer: What are the Marmot Principles?

The Marmot Principles, developed by Professor Sir Michael Marmot, aim to tackle health inequalities by improving things like education, employment, housing, and access to services. They’re focused on creating “fairer societies” – a noble idea on paper.

Criticisms?
Some say the Marmot approach leans heavily towards big-state solutions, endless public sector spending, and bureaucratic interference without tackling the real root causes.
It’s also been criticised for assuming that throwing more money at government projects always creates better outcomes – something history shows is often very far from the truth!

🏛️ Do Marmot Principles align with Reform UK?

Partially, maybe – but not the way Labour thinks.
Reform UK believes in genuine fairness – achieved through secure borders, sound economic management, real localism, and empowering people, not bloating council bureaucracies and social engineering projects.
We care about opportunity for all – but we refuse to be bullied into supporting failed Labour-style “solutions” that have been tried, tested, and failed for decades.

😎 In summary:

  • Labour can’t stop thinking about Reform UK
  • They’re terrified we’re speaking for the real people of Medway
  • And they’re terrified we’re not playing by their tired, broken old rules

Stay tuned, because if this is how they’re melting down already… we’re going to need a bigger popcorn machine! 🍿

Reform UK – the true opposition in Medway.

⚠️ WARNING ⚠️

What you’re about to witness is a Labour meltdown of historic proportions. Side effects may include:

  • Laughing out loud
  • Shaking your head in disbelief
  • Wanting to vote Reform UK immediately.

Proceed with caution! 🎥😂
