Step back in time and immerse yourself in Victorian festivities at the Rochester Dickensian Christmas Festival on Saturday, 7 and Sunday, 8 December 2024. Experience street entertainment, readings, and musical performances as the historic streets come alive with characters from Charles Dickens’ beloved novels.
Festival Highlights:
- Seven Poor Travellers’ Procession: Commences at 11 am from outside the Victoria & Bull Hotel, proceeding along the High Street to the Six Poor Travellers’ House.
- Main Parade: At 12 noon, led by the Mayor of Medway, featuring costumed characters and performers, starting at Almon Place and concluding on the Boley Hill Stage.
- Candlelit Parade: Begins at 4:45 pm from Almon Place, leading to a carol service on the open-air stage at Boley Hill.
- Carols for Christmas: At 5 pm, join the Rochester Choral Society and festival performers for a carol concert outside Rochester Cathedral, complete with guaranteed snowfall.
