Ex Nurse

I worked for many years as an NHS nurse and thought that subscribing to the NHS superannuation scheme was a good idea for my future.  How wrong was I!!  It has been to my detriment because I now come slightly above the threshold for getting Pension Credits.

I’m a 71 year old lady living on my own in a mobile home, I have LPG for my hob, oil for my central heating and hot water and electricity for everything else.

I’ve got smart plugs on every socket in use, I don’t use my oven anymore and I’ve now got an air fryer.  It’s only the end of September and I’m really cold but can’t put my heating on because I can’t afford it.

I’ve just been diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis which is exacerbated by the cold and is a “life limiting” lung disease.

Now the WFP has been cancelled I have absolutely no idea how I’m going to manage this winter.

I’m not looking for sympathy but I am looking for practical suggestions on realistic ways that pensioners in the same position as me can make a difference in getting Starma & his cronies out??
